2012 North Carolina Junior Beef Round-Up Results

Nine head of Santa Gertrudis and four exhibitors participated in the 2012 North Carolina Junior Beef Round-Up. The show was held June 2 in Raleigh, NC, and judged by Dave Allan of Schulenburg, TX.

2012 Santa Gertrudis Breeders of the Carolinas Sale

The 2012 Santa Gertrudis Breeders of the Carolinas Sale was held at the Chester Livestock Exchange in Chester, SC. Bidding was hot on the 29 lots of purebred cattle and 4 lots of Star 5 cattle. High-selling lot, Windcrest 8/64, was consigned by Michael Hadley; the 3n1 sold to Lou-Al-Tuck Farms of Great Falls, SC, for $3,850. The second high-selling lot, LAT 317/9, was consigned by Lou-Al-Tuck Farms; the bred cow sold to Steve Kuepferle of Hillsborough, NC, for $3,000. Volume buyer was Ann McNerney of Chester, SC, with 4 lots; second volume buyer was David Duke of Indian Trail, NC, with 3 lots. Cattle sold to 21 buyers from GA, NC, SC, OH, and MS.

North Carolina State Fair Santa Gertrudis Open Show Results (Heifer)

The Santa Gertrudis Open Show at the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh, NC, was held on October 20, 2011 at noon. The judge was Jay Daniels of Athens, GA.

North Carolina State Fair Junior Show Results.

The 2011 North Carolina State Fair Junior Beef Heifer show was held on October 15 in Raleigh, NC. Five juniors exhibited 7 head of Santa Gertrudis cattle. Results were as follows:

Elena Eller of Moore County, NC, judged the event. There were 22 female entries and 6 male entries in the show. Grand champion female was exhibited by Austin Cameron, reserve grand champion was exhibited by Michael Hadley. Grand champion bull was exhibited by Michael Hadley, and reserve grand champion was exhibited by Flatwillow Farms.
