2010 Year in Review

2010 was a busy year for the Santa Gertrudis Breeders of the Carolinas:

Our 2010 sale in Chester, SC was a tremendous success:
26 purebred lots grossed $39,750 to average $1528
12 commercial lots grossed $10,375 to average $864.00
High selling lot was Knight N Gail 918/8, which sold for $2500 from Hadley Farms to Creech Farms.

Lane Livengood hosted the Field Day in September at his farm in Thomasville, NC. The morning featured opening remarks by Duane Johnson, a junior report from Colt Sherrill, and a presentation by Wyatt and Lynn Santsing. Ten exhibitors brought about 30 animals for a show judged by Randy "Peaches" Carpenter. Michael Hadley exhibited both Grand Champion Female, MC 3/7, and Grand Champion Bull, Creech 904.

Santa Gertrudis breeders participated in both the North and South Carolina State Fairs, a number of county fairs, and a number of junior shows.

We look forward to an exciting 2011, kicking off with the Breeders of the Carolinas Sale on May 14, 2011 in Chester, SC.
